HEAPS NORMAL PRESENTS POLYTECH WRAP UP

When we were dreaming up our first Heaps Normal Presents gig we thought to ourselves ‘What kind of event would a non-alc beer be least expected to do?’ and we landed on a full-blown, audio-visual techno rave. That’s what we delivered on Friday night for our first gig - POLYECH, featuring the long-awaited return of Sydney duo DIN – Rainbow Chan (Chunyin) & Alex Ward (Moon Holiday) – performing alongside slamming selector Crescendoll, and Gamilaroi sound artist Source Decay. We were also joined by incredible Sydney techno DJ Lucy Cliche, who covered for Land Systems who was unfortunately taken down by the spicy cough at the eleventh hour.

The event also marked the launch of the wider ‘Heaps Normal Presents’ music industry support program– which encompasses the presentation and sponsorship of monthly gigs (taking place across Australia), a rider support program for artists who want to cut back on the booze, and a music ambassador program. We’ll have a lot more to say about this in the coming weeks and months, with some super exciting ambassadors coming on board to help share the Heaps Normal love.

For the time being, enjoy this selection of shots from the night, as well as a sampler playlist we’ve pulled together of all of the amazing artists who performed. Special thanks to the artists, WHPY and FBi radio who we co-presented the event, and the Red Rattler - Sydney’s undisputed home of techno. Stay tuned for the next event!
